The United Breast Cancer Foundation’s mission is to improve the lives of those afflicted with breast cancer, assist those with a family member dealing with breast cancer, and to educate the general public on issues related to breast cancer. The UCBF accomplishes these missions through a wide range of programs, making a positive difference for those affected by this disease

More specifically, one of the missions that UCBF carries out daily involves financial assistance to benefit those dealing with breast cancer in the form of medical cost reimbursement. They accomplish this through numerous methods, including providing funding for screening services, and also by providing financial assistance with actual breast cancer treatment-related costs.
The UCBF also works with hospitals to arrange breast reconstructive surgery for women affected by breast cancer. This surgery is provided at little or no cost to the victim. This surgery can be invaluable, from a self-esteem standpoint, to women striving day by day to heal themselves physically and mentally following breast cancer treatment.
The Audrey B. Mastroianni Scholarship Fund was created by UCBF. The mission of this college scholarship fund is to help aspiring students in financial need who have been affected by breast cancer. Many college students across the country who have realized their dreams of higher education owe a debt of gratitude to this scholarship fund maintained by the UCBF.
The UCBF also works to lessen the effects caused by breast cancer on people’s lives by providing general information about this disease to the public, including information needed to conduct your own self-exam. They also encourage seeing a doctor for a formal screening, provide financial assistance for screening to those in need, and can assist in locating a screening facility in your area.
